Romanian PM Assures 16% Flat Tax Remains Unchanged For The Moment
Romania’s Government currently has no plans to either increase, lower or eliminate its 16% flat tax, although it is considering different scenarios, Prime Minister Emil Boc said Sunday.
"We are currently not talking about raising or lowering the flat tax. We are considering different scenarios but, I repeat, the flat tax currently stays at 16%," Boc said.

Boc said Friday the Government will scrap the minimum tax imposed on companies as of this fall and keeping the flat tax level at 16% is the Government's priority.

Romania, Germany To Sign Plane-Construction Agreement
The Bucharest National Institute for Airspace Research (INCAS) and a similar institute in Germany want to seal an agreement to construct a plane for regional flights.
German Airspace Center aeronautics president Joachim Szodruch told a news conference Friday that it is not yet known when the agreement will be signed. Szodruch said the agreement must be signed by next summer if other EU states would like to participate in the project.

The regional-flight plane will have a capacity of 50 passengers and will fly at 12,000-13,000 meters altitude.

Bucharest First Fastest Developing Capital In Europe In Upcoming Five Years - Survey
Romania’s capital Bucharest will be the fastest developing city in Europe in the next five years and will register the biggest annual increase in jobs, said as survey conducted by Oxford Economics, cited by German newspaper Handelsblatt.
According to Handelsblatt, Romania is expected to register a 7.2% growth in the upcoming five years.
